Prerequisites

Before embarking on your DegenScan journey, ensure you have the following:

Google Chrome

Version 88 or later

Internet Connection

Stable broadband connection

DegenScan Account

Active paid subscription

Supported OS

Windows 10+, macOS 10.14+, or Linux

RPC Required

A solana blockchain RPC is required to scan tokens.

Installation Process

Follow these steps to install DegenScan and unleash its full potential:

Purchase a Subscription

  1. Visit the DegenScan website
  2. Connect you wallet to create an account, this is the wallet that your subscriptions will be paid out to
  3. Purchase a subscription plan that suits your needs
  4. Complete the purchase process
  5. You can now visit the dashboard and view your extension credentials
Keep your account credentials safe. You’ll need them to log in to the extension.

Install the Chrome Extension

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Navigate to the DegenScan Chrome Web Store page
  3. Click the “Add to Chrome” button
  4. In the confirmation pop-up, click “Add extension”
DegenScan requires certain permissions to function properly. Review these carefully before proceeding.

Authenticate Your DegenScan Account

  1. Locate the DegenScan icon in your Chrome toolbar
  2. Click the icon to open the DegenScan sidebar
  3. Pin the extension for easy toggle access
  4. You’ll be prompted to log in
  5. Enter the email and password from your dashboard
  6. Start scanning away
For quick access, click the puzzle piece icon in the Chrome toolbar, find DegenScan, and click the pin icon.

Configure Your Settings

Connection Settings
  1. Navigate to “Settings” in the DegenScan sidebar
  2. Under “Connection Settings”, configure your:
    • RPC URL (mainnet) - You can get one from Helius
    • Limit RPC access settings

Configure your privacy preferences:
  • Show in Feed: Toggle to allow your scans to appear in the public feed
  • Show Username: Choose to display your username instead of “Anon”

If you encounter any issues during the installation or activation process, try these solutions:
  1. Type chrome://extensions in your address bar
  2. Ensure DegenScan is listed and enabled
  3. If not, try reinstalling the extension

  2. Double-check your account credentials
  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies

  2. Check for any browser extensions that might be interfering
  3. Try disabling your ad-blocker for the DegenScan domain
